Abbott Powerboats

Thank you for your inquiry into the Abbott Power Boats.  The Wavebreaker 220 and Fisherman 220 have an identical hull and deck, with the only difference being the power packages.

Design and construction of the boat is the secret to its strength and longevity. All glass is hand-laid, with special attention given to areas of stress and wear. The balsa cored hull and deck are reinforced with fiberglass stringers and supports. Particular efforts to eliminate rot and moisture damage have been taken to produce a boat that will be easy to maintain and keep for many years.

This is a rugged boat and the deep V design takes the harsh weather. When you are out on the water and it gets rough, having a boat you can depend on, makes your day, rather than spoiling it.

The Wavebreaker 220 comes standard with the 4.3 litre LX V-6 Mercury I/O. This power package makes for great all round use of the boat, with top speed of up to 40-45 MPH. The motor trolls slow enough for fishing which eliminates the need for a separate small motor. The 205 is a 4 cylinder.

The Fisherman 220 is our outboard version. The standard hull comes with an aluminum outboard bracket, double rotary steering for strength and an extra reinforced transom. Use of the outboard bracket greatly enhances performance of the motor and opens up the cockpit area for fishing. Power packages available from the factory are 150, 175, and 200 HP. The 150 HP gives a top end performance of 40-50 MPH. The 200's top end is 50-55 MPH. We recommend the use of a small motor when trolling to reduce fuel consumption.

Either model is a proven performer! Whether you, fish for Salmon in Lake Ontario, pickerel in Lake Erie, or use the boat for both fishing and family boating, this is the boat for you.

Best regards,
